Insurance
If your insurance covers orthodontic treatment, you will receive the benefit of reduced personal costs. Many insurance policies have a lifetime orthodontic benefit that is distinct from regular dental insurance. Insurance policies vary, so it is important for you to review your policy and know the following:
- Do I have an orthodontic benefit?
- What is the lifetime maximum dollar amount? (example: $1,000)
- What is the maximum percent of coverage? (usually 50-60%)
- How is it dispersed to the office? (quarterly, monthly, etc.)
- Has any other orthodontic claim been made in my name?
